Sausage Party Trailer and Release Date available

Thanks for the creative work of animated movies makers, a lot of objects in animated family movies have come to life. From the toys of Toy Story, to the cars of Cars, and the volcanoes of Pixar short Lava all come to reality. However, while Lawrence Kasanoff’s 2012 film Foodfight! came close, there has never really been a major picture about grocery food coming to life… until now.

Toys of Toy Story have come to life

Regular creative partners Evan Goldberg and Seth Rogen have teamed up once again – along with The Night Before screenwriters/producers Ariel Shaffir and Kyle Hunter – to create Sausage Party. It’s an animated adventure horror comedy film about a hot dog called Frank (Rogen). He lives at a supermarket with various other food products. They live a peaceful life with their ultimate goal to get picked by a customer.

The movie is about the adventure of food products

One day, he was “chosen” along with his friends and hot dog bun love interest Brenda (Kristen Wiig), and goes on a journey from the grocery store to the kitchen – where he believes a kind of paradise awaits. The reality, unfortunately, is much more barbarous. They soon discover the truth about their existence, when the woman prepares a meal with them that equates to torture and death. Now, with the help of his friends, they embark on an adventure to escape their fate.

The reality is over expected of these food products

Latest news on Sausage party release date and trailer.

A rough cut of the film premiered at the South by Southwest Film Festival on March 14, 2016.

Sausage Party was co-directed by Greg Tiernan (Thomas & Friends) and Conrad Vernon (Shrek 2) – notable choices, since both have only ever directed children’s movies and TV shows before. Perhaps that’s why the first red band trailer for Sausage Party is able to pull off such an effective bait-and-switch, selling itself as a run-of-the-mill kids movie right up until the moment where the horror begins.

Sausage Party features the voices of many regular Goldberg/Rogen collaborators, including Jonah Hill, James Franco, Bill Hader, Paul Rudd, Danny McBride, Craig Robinson and Michael Cera. Edward Norton plays a bagel called Sammy Bagel Jr, and Salma Hayek plays a taco called Teresa Taco. One of the upsides to this collection of people working together so often is that fans of their humor know what they’re in for, and those who can’t stand it know that Sausage Party is probably a movie they’ll want to skip.

There will be so many horror challenges at Sausage Party

The premise of the movie is inherently funny, so the challenge for Sausage Party will be to keep the laughs coming once the main gag of a cutesy animated movie being filled with swearing and “gore” wears off. A work-in-progress version of the movie screened at SXSW shortly before the trailer was released, and apparently got an extremely positive reaction from the attendees. The buzz on Twitter is very promising, and one audience member described the the movie as “incredibly funny, filthy, insane, ambitious,” and said it “blew the roof off.” It looks like the Goldberg/Rogen team could have another hit on their hands.

Sausage Party will be released in U.S. theaters on August 12th, 2016. The movie is expected to be a spoof of Disney and Pixar films and will be the first R-rated computer animated movie. Follow us for more behind the scenes, hottest news on this awesome movie!
