Candy Crush Saga

Candy Crush Saga, from the makers of Candy Crush Soda Saga & Farm Heroes Saga. The play is simple - just swipe two candies to switch their positions - and the feedback so carefully calculated that I am sure someone who'd never seen a smartphone in their lives could quickly figure it out. You have a pre-defined number of moves in which to score as many points as possible. You score points by lining up at least three in a row (or at least five in an L) of any like candies to "crush" them.

While you can't beat free, would highly recommend that would-be casual gamers check out titles like Piano Tiles 2 and Puzzle Bear, which are simple but have a lot more heart and charm.

The Sims free play

While there’s nothing new about this game, the original formula is perfect for mobile devices. The game works well! A few hiccups here and there but it was completely manageable. Visuals are dated, but good. This is probably the biggest knock on the game, but it really isn’t a big one. The Sims would feel a little weird with a completely revamped look. Add in that this is a FREE Android app, and hey, it’s not a problem. The sandbox is as fun as ever, you determine everything. This game is awesome, because of the choices you get to make for your Sims.

Stack by Ketchapp

Given the circumstances, this was one of the more enjoyable things I’ve reviewed for MacSources, but even without the train competition, Stack would be getting a positive review. Gameplay is so incredibly simple; you stack blocks as high as you can. When you press play, a block slides across your base and bounces back and forth until you tap the screen to stop it. When you do, any part of the block that is not over the base of the stack falls off and leaves you with a smaller area to stack and smaller future blocks. If you manage to line things up perfectly several times in a row, your stack and blocks start emanating white squares and eventually gain area (which I actually find breaks the rhythm of the game, more often than not breaking the streak and making me lose a lot of area on the next pass).

So, Stack up the blocks as high as you can!
